Barcelona

We flew in to Barcelona late Sunday afternoon. It was an easy flight from Paris. As I looked out over the vastness of the ocean I saw a lone sailboat and wondered what it would be like to look out and see absolutely nothing but sea. Scary and exciting all at once, I bet.

As we approached BCN airport I saw the port where the cruise ships were docked. This will be phase two of our adventures.

Our hotel is in a very central location and a short walk to the beach. It's a neat place to sit at the balcony and watch the hustle and bustle.

We wandered around and made our way to the beach. Interestingly the sand here is quite gritty, and the closer you get to the footpath the dustier the sand is.

We had tapas at a side street cafe and I couldn't resist a plate of snails. Delicious!

We aren't in Barcelona for long because of our extended stay in Paris. The feel of this place is cool and laid back, and it will be good to come back here and explore a bit more.
