Cirrocumulus stratiformis?

I love clouds, and for the the last couple of evenings here in Auckland we have had spectactular formations.

cirrocumulus or cirrus?

So I go to google and wikipedia to try and find out what type of clouds these were. You'd think it would be clear-cut, but no! I guess that's why people go to study meteorology instead of deciphering descriptions and images online.

altocumulus or stratocumulus castellanus?

I studied Latin at school, but please! Cirrus castellanus, Cirrocumulus undulatus, Altocumulus duplicatus, Altostratus opacus?? I'll stick to my day job, thanks.

I took pictures of the clouds as well, they looked really cool last night.

Isn't it lovely when something as simple as pretty clouds makes the news! I'd rather see these then hear about the sinister things that you have to hear about most nights!
